From July 5 to August 25, the exhibition hall of the Culture and Folk Art Centre “Ritums” features an exhibition “Latvian daughters wade in dew”. For the third year in a row, thirteen folk applied art studios of the culture centre “Ritums” present a joint exposition of their best works.
The motto of the exhibition “Latvian daughters wade in dew” – drawing inspiration from Latvian nature. Nowadays, the best way to relax, to get inspired, to refill individual physical and emotional resources is going outdoors. The participants of the applied art studios as well carry out individual trips or joint en plein air sessions, where they sketch, take photos, or just draw inspiration from the nature. The works presented are both ethnographic, and created using the knowledge acquired in the studios.
The works are made by masters and participants of the Folk Applied Art Studios “Bārbele”, “Rota”, “Dzīne”, “Rīdze”, “Plastika”, “Gundega”, “Draudzība”, “Kalvis”, “Cilnis”, “Vasa”, “Cēre”, “Valdziņš”, and “Zemga”.
